Merek Tomanek’s Nanaimo Adventure Charters & Tours is a gem.
He himself is personable, accommodating, and considerate. (For example, he adroitly re-scheduled our booked cruise when weather and family circumstances forced a change.) He provided a thoughtful experience for our mixed age group (aged 7 to 74) on a several-hour tour that included Dodd’s Narrows – exciting! – Thetis Island, and Pirates Cove on De Courcy Island. He demonstrated his spontaneity, not only with a loop back through Dodd’s Narrows at full ebb, but also with an up-close look at the spectacular Gabriola cliffs. His Boston Whaler is immaculate, with lots of room for our party of seven; it’s also impressively ‘zoomy’!
All in all, a perfect day on the water. As Merek himself said: “Only thing better would have been if we’d seen orcas!”
